NJ Shines Coalition Congratulates Governor-elect Sherrill
On behalf of the NJ Shines coalition—a diverse alliance of community-based, social justice, environmental, industry, and faith organizations and businesses—we congratulate Governor-elect Sherrill on her victory and look forward to working with her administration to advance our shared goal of a cleaner, more affordable energy future for all New Jerseyans.
New Jersey residents and businesses deserve relief from high energy costs and access to clean energy solutions that create jobs, protect public health, and strengthen our communities against climate impacts. Expanding access to affordable solar is key to achieving these goals while driving investment across all New Jersey communities.
Our coalition has long championed resilient and equitable clean energy policies that work for everyone – especially the residents of overburdened communities who pay the highest portion of their income on energy bills and bear the greatest health burdens from fossil fuel pollution.
By expanding solar access and accelerating pathways to going solar – including immediate steps to streamline solar permitting, authorize plug-in solar, and untangle regional delays that keep new clean energy from coming online – we can create more local jobs, reduce energy bills for working families, improve air quality, and build the climate resilience our state needs.
We look forward to collaborating with the Sherrill administration to move New Jersey toward an energy future that shines.
